Results are in…. The SwimGuard “full cage” propeller guard is the safest on the market! Email: info@powerboatsafety.com
Results from the USCG’s Office of Boating Safety and American Boating & Yacht Council’s September 29, 2010 Report entitled “The USCG Accident Mitigation Workshop 2010” clearly demonstrates Maritech Industries' “full cage” propeller guard design is the safest propeller guard on the market today.
This latest report was presented to the general public during the
2010 IBEX Trade Show. Since 2006, the USCG and ABYC have
been conducting a series of propeller guard evaluations as a means
to develop testing protocol for current and other operational
characteristics, to the effectiveness (if any) toward swimmer safety.
Even today in 2012, the USCG & ABYC continue their efforts to
educate the industry of testing outcome. To view this presentation,

For more than a decade, Maritech Industry has supplied all
segments of the boating industry with the most effective propeller guard ever designed for human protection. Our Swimguard is the only propeller guard that offers 360 degree propeller encasement, thus providing swimmers the surest form of protection from a boat’s propeller.
USCG’s Boating Accident Reporting Database (BARD) continually shows a significant amount of propeller strike injuries and fatalities that occur in numerous ways. This data includes occupants falling from the front of a moving boat, moving from boat-to-boat, accidental motor starts, swimming near the back of the boat, or simply getting in and out of the water via the boarding ladder. Our Propeller Guard’s unique design will provide maximum propeller protection from all of these scenarios.
We urge you to view the USCG’s PSA “Don’t Wreck Your Summer” which shows how quick these types of accidents can happen. Our products are designed to mitigate or eliminate these types of accident scenarios.
Designed for non-performance applications, our propeller guard can be utilized on most any boat and will not compromise the safe operation of your vessel. In fact, at speeds of 10 mph or less, you won’t even know its on. Of course, as speed is increased, there will be a loss on top end speed.
If your desire is to offer your staff, personnel, or your friends, family and loved ones the highest level of propeller safety, then the SwimGuard propeller guard is for you!
SwimGuard - Pro
The SwimGuard Pro is a modified version of the SwimGuard. Originally designed for those who are only concerned with
“core” protection, not hands, feet, etc. This version does not
provide the level of protection as the SwimGuard. However, it
does allow you to maintain a higher level of top end speed.
Many water rescue professionals have stated “it’s a nice balance
of propeller safety, while maintaining as much top end as
possible.”
Over the years, The SwimGuard and SwimGuard - Pro have
gained the respect of industry and our customers alike. Our
propeller guards have become very popular and are currently
